Shorter Strides
I found that I expend less energy and sometimes run faster when I shorten my stride. It's a tough thing to remember, especially when I'm plodding up Sweet Pond Rd. But I'm doing it more and more, and I think I'm getting better results. My legs are less sore, and my times are better. It just feels a bit weird, like I'm taking baby steps. I can't see myself running, so it's hard for me to gauge whether my stride is OK. I should have Emma tape me so I can see what I look like.

The Obsession Continues
I signed up for Vermont City Marathon 2006. My legs just feel weird when they're not sore. And I got a whole bag of Gu for Christmas (thanks, Hon!), so may as well make the most of it. Yum.

Yay, It's Winter!
Since my last post it's snowed quite a bit. Last winter I discovered that it's actually fun to run in snow. I especially like running while it's snowing, which I did on Thanksgiving Day. Over the past few weeks I've run on the treadmill maybe two or three times a week, then a longer run (8 to 10 miles) on the weekends. I think I'm at around 20 miles per week, and I'll be building this up to train for the VT City Marathon. I've yet to sign up, but I think I'm doing it.
